Green card and citizenship interviews for most of North Jersey happen at the Peter Rodino Federal Building, 970 Broad Street, Newark, NJ 07102. Adjustment of status interviews are on the 14th floor. Naturalization is on the 14th and 15th.
We send an interpreter who meets you outside beforehand and stays through the interview. Spanish first, and more than 40 other languages.

What to know about this office
- It covers Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic, Union, Morris, Middlesex, Somerset, Hunterdon, Sussex and Warren counties.
- No walk-ins. Every interview needs an appointment.
- The building is busy. Expect to be there a while, whatever your appointment time says.
- If your notice says 100 Mulberry Street, yours is an asylum interview, different building and different rules.
Before you book anyone
Bringing an interpreter is your responsibility here, not USCIS’s. You and your interpreter sign Form G-1256 in front of the officer, and the officer decides whether the interpreting is good enough. If it isn’t, the interview is rescheduled — months of waiting, gone.
